6th of October is one of the satellite cities developed to be a major residential, commercial, and industrial zone in West Cairo. The city is known to be one of the most tranquil and hassle-free cities on the west bank of the Nile.Also, 6 October City is most known for its Smart Village, which serves as a center for the IT industry in Egypt. It has many upscale local and international companies operating there. The city is located in northern Egypt, creating one of the largest neighborhoods in Giza Governorate. The city, whose development started in 1979 according to the presidential decree number 504, was named after the National Army Day.
